S!sters Speak Life was born to ensure that no woman in Vance County faces breast cancer alone. We inspire hope, provide education, and connect women to yearly 3D mammogram screenings through Invision Diagnostics — and through a community united together.
The vision began with our founder, Freddie Ann Harris, a two-time breast cancer survivor. Her story of faith, family, and resilience sparked a movement that has grown into a countywide mission—one rooted in support, healing, and unity.
S!sters Speak Life is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring hope and healing for breast cancer warriors in Vance County. We provide education, survivor and caregiver support, and yearly 3D mammogram screenings through our partnership with Invision Diagnostics — and through a community united together.
One Color. One Cause. One County. United in Hope.
From this journey, S!sters Speak Life was created. What started as my personal fight for survival has become a countywide movement.
Through events like the Tree of Hope & Affirmation, Survivor & Caregiver Walks, and Soul Care–Self Care workshops—and through our partnership with Invision Diagnostics—S!sters Speak Life is committed to ensuring that every woman in Vance County, insured or uninsured, has access to yearly 3D mammogram screenings. Our goal is simple: to save lives through early detection, support, and hope, so that no woman faces breast cancer alone.
After facing the battle of breast cancer not once but twice, Freddie Harris emerged with a renewed sense of purpose and passion. Her mission is to ensure that no woman walks the journey of cancer alone. Through her personal experiences, she identified critical gaps in support—especially for plus-size survivors needing mastectomy bras that are both functional and beautiful. This led to one of her signature initiatives: providing custom-fit mastectomy bras that promote dignity and confidence.
Through S!sters Speak Life, Freddie offers resources, education, and a supportive sisterhood to help women thrive beyond diagnosis. She actively collaborates with healthcare providers and fellow organizations to deliver emotional, mental, and financial support to those in need. Freddie’s story is one of unwavering faith, resilience, and the power of turning pain into purpose.
"Loving Me" is a deeply personal memoir by Freddie Harris, chronicling her courageous journey through two battles with breast cancer. In this inspiring narrative, Freddie shares her experiences of loss, resilience, and unwavering faith, offering readers a testament to the strength of the human spirit.
S!sters Speak Life is dedicated to amplifying the voices of breast cancer survivors, ensuring they are seen, heard, and supported. We advocate for better healthcare access, survivor-focused policies, and workplace accommodations for those battling the disease. Our mission is to empower women to speak their truth and take charge of their journey with confidence.
Knowledge is power, and we provide vital information to help women understand breast cancer prevention, early detection, and survivorship. Through expert-led workshops, webinars, and survivor panels, we equip women with the tools they need to navigate their diagnosis and beyond. Our goal is to eliminate fear through education, replacing uncertainty with strength and action.
From inspiring survivor brunches to wellness retreats and awareness walks, we create spaces for women to heal, connect, and thrive. We also offer valuable resources, including access to support groups, financial aid information, and self-care guidance. Whether you need encouragement, education, or empowerment, S!sters Speak Life is here for you every step of the way.
